WHAT IS A DOJO?

According to Wikipedia, "A dōjō (道場, Japanese pronunciation: [doꜜː(d)ʑoː) is a hall or place for immersive learning, experiential learning or meditation. This is traditionally in the field of martial arts, but has been seen increasingly in other fields, such as meditation and software development. The term literally means "place of the Way" in Japanese."

This particular dojo is indeed a "place of the way". I will lead you with integrity, exercise discernment, I will also be your student and you my teacher!

Macro and Microscopic approach to personal development.

About your Sensei ...

I'm a shapeshifter and embody different archetypes depending on the time and occasion. You will find I ebb and flow between teacher, doula, heyoka, sister, psychopomp. You might get a version of me that is like "Sophia Petrillo" from the GOLDEN GIRLS or you might encounter a "Bruce Lee" rendition. What I hear often times from clients is that they appreciate my personable demeanor.

A positive conntection between student and teacher can be a life changing experience. For you to get the most out of the experience there must be a willingness to respect protocols. There has to be a respect for the student and equal respect to the person sharing years of guarded knowledge. If a farmer comes to your home and takes the time and transparency to share knowledge that will help you nourish yourself and gain greater control of your health, then activate a spirit of resciprocity. Keep that knowledge blessing rollin'!

"You must teach your children that the ground beneath their feet is the ashes of our grandfathers. So that they will respect the land, tell your children that the earth is rich with the lives of our kin. Teach your children what we have taught our children -- that the earth is our mother. Whatever befalls the earth, befalls the sons of the earth. If men spit upon the ground, the spit upon themselves.

This we know. The earth does not belong to man; man belongs to the earth. This we know. All things are connected like the blood which unites one family. All things are connected.

Whatever befalls the earth befalls the sons of the earth. Man did not weave the web of life; he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself ..."
