About this technique ...
This particular modality was created by my previous employer/shifu Wendy Cheng. It's the lovechild of Western remedial massage and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Wendy is a Western Sydney based physiotherapist and TCM practitioner. She's one of the most incisive healers I have ever met (and I've worked with many!). Her skill and intuition is laser sharp. With years of honing her skills she's developed techniques that helps accelerate the patients healing process (dependant of course on patient input). It is an absolute privilege to have been able to study under what I consider a master in her craft.
This innovative modality is similar to other massage services I offer like Romiromi in that both target accupressure point, but Romiromi goes further into addressing ancestral healing.

What is TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine)?
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is an ancient form of health care used to diagnose and cure illness through the use of herbs, massage and acupuncture.
What is remedial massage?
Remedial Massage is a technique that uses manual manipulation of soft tissues in the body. It encourages the flow of body fluids, breaks up adhesion and diminishes tension. It can also help those who through injury, illness or age are inactive. Massage could have both physiological and psychological advantages!
My goal for you ...
My goal is to provide a safe judgement-free space that promotes deep healing.
My mission is to help build your physical, emotional, and energetic bodies through qi(chi) manipulation and remedial bodywork.
My vision is to better position you to activate your own inner healer so that you may lead a life that you can thrive in.
Questions and Answers
What's the first step?
Prior to booking you've established with your doctor that this is right for you!
Next Step?
You make your way to your appt (or I make my way to you) and you ready your body by presenting clean and hopefully not have recently consumed a heavy meal. We begin the session with a brief consultation to get an idea of the big picture going on. First time consultations run a little a longer, however in subsequent visits I'll do a quick follow up on your progress.
What to expect during?
We'll assess where you're at that day and how we can customize a treatment that meets you where you're at in that particular session. A session or a series of sessions may look like consistent soft tissue massage, deep tissue, or a combination. Throughout the session I'll be checking in asking how's the pressure and how are you processing. Your safety, healing, and comfort is my priority.
Clothing optional?
You have the option to remain clothed, but undressing is helpful especially for deep healing.
Payment options?
You have the options of paying cash or tap-on-phone.
It's important to consult with a healthcare professional before beginning any new treatment modality. TCM Remedial Massage should be considered as a complementary therapy and not a replacement for conventional medical treatments.

More on TCM
The meridians or channels known as jing Luo are a system of energy pathways connecting and balancing the different organs. The meridians have four purposes: to link the inward organs with the outside of the body, and join the individual to the climate and the universe; to blend the yin and yang standards inside the organs of the body and five substances; to circulate qi inside the body, and to shield the body from the external imbalances which are associated with climate, at the point when the Jing Luo is obstructed with the goal that qi and blood can't flow, the individual encounters physical pain.

"When you work these points, be it with acupressure or acupuncture, two main things happen," says Hsu. "You are creating endogenous opiate release, so you are making your body release its own naturally occurring and created 'feel-good' chemicals, like serotonin, dopamine, and opiates. And the second is down-modulation of sympathetic upregulation, which basically just means you are turning down your fight-or-flight response."
